Our straight Male ORFS x Male JIC hydraulic adapters combine the benefits of two widely used fitting types: ORFS (O-ring Face Seal) and JIC (Joint Industry Council). ORFS fittings feature an O-ring that sits in a groove on the face of the fitting, creating an elastomeric seal when compressed between the flat face of the male ORFS component and the mating fitting or tube. This design ensures a secure, leak-free connection in high-pressure hydraulic systems. The JIC side, defined by SAE J514, uses a 37-degree flare seat and parallel threads to create a mechanical seal when the male flared fitting contacts the female coned seat. Both fitting types are commonly made from carbon, nickel-plated carbon, or stainless steel and are ideal for preventing leaks in fluid power systems.
