The 45-Degree Angled Male BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered) adapters are designed for secure, leak-free connections in fluid systems. These adapters feature male BSPT threads, which are tapered to create a tight seal by wedging the threads together. The seal is made by compressing metal-to-metal angled surfaces or a combination of metal and an O-ring, providing a captive seal. BSPT adapters are compatible with both BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) and BSPT female ports. These adapters are similar to NPSM/NPT connections, but with a different thread pitch, making them non-interchangeable with American threads. Thread sealant is recommended to ensure a secure connection. The thread sizes are expressed using fractional dimensions, with “R” representing a tapered thread (e.g., BSPT 1/4-19 is designated by R 1/4), ensuring a precise fit in various industrial applications.
