Our Series 8036 Straight Male BSPT x Female NPT hydraulic adapters are made from nickel-plated brass and are designed to connect components with British Standard Pipe Tapered (BSPT) and National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads. While BSPT and NPT threads are similar, they differ in thread pitch, outer diameter, and form, so it’s important to use thread sealants to ensure a secure, leak-proof connection. These adapters feature a metal-to-metal seal or a combination of metal and an O-ring for a tight fit. The male BSPT side is compatible with both BSPT and BSPP female ports, while the female NPT side uses a U.S. standard for tapered threads. Ideal for applications where a secure, permanent connection is required, these adapters are commonly used in fluid and gas transfer systems. Thread sizes are expressed as fractional dimensions, such as BSPT 1/4-19 designated as R 1/4.
