Male DIN x Female NPT hydraulic adapters are designed to connect two different types of fittings—DIN and NPT—commonly used in hydraulic systems. The male DIN fitting features a 24° tapered throat angle inside its threads, which, when a tube nut is tightened over the metric threads, compresses a ferrule or cutting ring to create a secure seal. This connection is considered mechanical and is available in three pressure classes: Extra Light Duty (LL), Light Duty (L), and Heavy Duty (S). The female NPT side uses the U.S. standard for tapered threads, where the metal-to-metal threads form a seal as they are tightened. NPT connections are ideal for single assembly applications and are not recommended for repeated disassembly due to wear on the threads.
