Straight Male JIC x Female NPT Rigid adapters are fittings used to connect JIC (Joint Industry Council) and NPT (National Pipe Tapered) threaded components in fluid and gas systems. The male end features a 37° flare, while the female NPT side uses tapered threads to form a secure, leak-free seal. NPT connections are metal-to-metal, offering durability and reliability in single-assembly applications, though they are not ideal for frequent disassembly. A thread sealant is recommended to ensure an optimal seal. The difference between a standard and a bulkhead adapter of this style lies in their design. A standard adapter has threads on both ends for connecting two parts, while a bulkhead adapter has a special design allowing it to pass through a panel or wall, securing the connection from both sides with external threads on one end and internal threads on the other. Bulkhead adapters are typically used when a fitting needs to go through a surface like a tank or panel.
