The Series 9066 45-Degree MJIC x Male Metric Adjustable Elbow adapters, made from durable carbon steel, are designed for fluid power systems, especially in hose end connections. These adapters feature male JIC (Joint Industry Council SAE J514) fittings with 37° tapered seats that form a secure mechanical seal when the male flared seat contacts the female coned seat. The male metric connection, commonly used in hydraulic systems, has a straight thread with a 60° angle on the recessed cone, while the female connector has a tapered nose. The seal occurs where the male cone meets the female flareless swivel. It’s important not to mix SAE 37° and SAE 45° fittings, as they have different seat angles that could lead to leakage. Careful measurement of seat angles ensures a leak-free connection.
