Description
The Series 9260 45-Degree MJIC x Female BSPP Swivel adapters, made from durable carbon steel, are designed for fluid power systems, particularly in hose end connections. These adapters feature male JIC (Joint Industry Council SAE J514) fittings with 37° tapered seats, which form a mechanical seal when the male flared seat contacts the female coned seat. The female BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) connection is similar to NPSM but features a different thread pitch and creates a captive seal using metal-to-metal surfaces or a combination of metal and O-ring. This connection style is highly effective in sealing fluid systems, though thread sealants are recommended to ensure a leak-free fit. It’s important to avoid mixing SAE 37° and SAE 45° fittings, as they have different seat angles, which could lead to leakage. Proper measurement of seat angles is critical for maintaining a secure connection.
