The Series FS2404 Straight Male ORFS x Male NPT hydraulic adapters, made from durable carbon steel, provide secure, leak-proof connections in hydraulic systems. The ORFS (O-ring Face Seal) side uses an O-ring that compresses between the fitting’s flat face and the mating fitting or tube to create a reliable, elastomeric seal, ensuring leak-tight performance. These fittings are built to the SAE J1453 standard and typically use Buna-N or Viton O-rings for high-pressure applications. On the other side, the male NPT (National Pipe Taper) connection features tapered threads that rely on thread deformation to create a metal-to-metal seal, ideal for fluid and gas transfer. The nominal pipe size can be determined by measuring the thread diameter and subtracting 1/4". While NPT connections are perfect for single assembly applications, they are not recommended for frequent disassembly due to potential wear on the threads.
